Throughout this year, my art and knowledge have grown an immense amount. This class has truly taught me so many new things, and I am so excited for Art 4. I have learned so many new techniques, terms, and art history and they have all contributed to my artistic growth. I think however, my greatest growth has been my love for art. This class has quite literally thrown me into the world of art and has made me so much more motivated to continue my works. If Art 3 has already taught me this much, I cannot wait to see what Art 4 brings.

Although I have definitely shown some positive growth within my art, Art 3 has also highlighted areas that need growth. I struggled a lot with the realism aspects of our sculpture and still life units. I was not very comfortable in these forms of art, which made these units increasingly difficult. Despite this, I still pushed through and finished both projects with grace! I stayed after school plenty of times just to ensure that I put my best foot forward and finished the projects to the best of my ability. Art 3 has highlighted my resilience and I am very grateful for that! I really need to work on improving my realism techniques, but practice makes perfect.

This year has taught me so much about art, but most importantly, it has introduced me to abstraction which is what I plan to focus on in Art 4. I have learned many abstraction techniques to use, but my favorite being scumbling. This will be heavily applied to my Art 4 work, and I am so excited to start my summer projects!
