Awareness Blog Post: Helen Frankenthaler

For our Awareness post, I decided to look more into Helen Frankenthaler. Her works intrigued me throughout our studies in class this year, but while I was on my search, I found a painting that reminded me of my ABEX work! It is titled Sphinx, and it was created in 1976. I find it absolutely beautiful, even with the simplicity of it. The colors really grab your attention and while it may look simple at first glance, it is actually quite detailed. The piece honestly inspires me to go and make my own simpler version of ABEX paintings. I really admire her work and enjoyed this search into them.
